Coral Grand Resort

Details

Coral Grand is an elegant and scenic resort located on the Sairee beach of Koh Tao Island, known as Turtle Island. Koh Tao island received its name from the many turtles that lived on the island decades ago. It is one of the most outstanding diving locations in the world, discovered only less than 20 years ago in the center of the deep Gulf of Siam, in Southern Thailand.

Our beachfront resort offers 45 charming and comfortable cottages made of tropical woods such as coconut trees and bamboo shoots, fit to accommodate all types and tastes. We also have 38 economy apartment type rooms that are available for guests who are interested in taking dive courses and/or doing fun dives. Our impressive swimming pool, tropical garden, and atmospheric restaurant are only a few of the many things to enjoy at our resort.

Who should book this hotel?

Our advice: with its quiet atmosphere and welcoming surroundings, Coral Grand Resort is ideal for travelers seeking a relaxing, homely stay in the idyllic Koh Tao. Koh Tao offers several great sandy beaches where you can relax beneath the palm trees and bathe in the crystal-clear water. The road system is not yet fully constructed, but renting a scooter and driving to some of the small and cosy fishing villages is a fantastic experience. Coral Grand Resort has a wide range of facilities and especially diving and snorkeling trips are what most of the guests spend their time on. In general Koh Tao is known as the "diving island" which means that a big percentage of the tourist going there will sign up for a dive certificate.

When to go?

Dry Season
December - February: The dry season. Not much rain, refreshing breezes will occur at this time. Great season for wind and body surfing. There is normally a lot of sunshine in this season.

Hot Season
March - August: The weather is still dry at this time, and it is usually very sunny and hot. In May it might rain a little more though. This is a great period to visit the islands if you like temperatures ranging from 28-35 degrees Celsius at daytime.

Rainy Season
September - November: Also known as the monsoon season. It is still hot and you will have sunny days in this season. On some days you might find yourself in a refreshing monsoon shower. The rain showers are often short and as these island's water supplies are finite, the rain is essential and important.

Go Beyond?

You should definitely go enjoy the crystal clear water by going on a snorkeling trip or signing up for the open water certificate. There are many beautiful Corals and Koh Tao is known to be the home of the big whale shark.
