Great Wall Trek

No journey to China is complete without a visit to the Great Wall, which is a great historical landmark entirely unprecedented. Originally the wall was 6,000 kilometers long and twists itself beautifully through the mountains of China. This 2 day trip takes you to some of the original un-restored sections of the wall to give you a real sense of just how majestic it is!

Day 1: Beijing - the Great Wall of China
The drive from Jysk Service Center out to the Great Wall of China takes about two hours. We hike first to the highest of the wall's towers, which is called Wangjinglou, there are great views in clear weather and it’s a perfect place to take pictures. Later we reach a tower called "General Tower" this part of the wall is called Jiankou. We stay the night in a local village which lies at the foot of the wall.

Day 2: Trekking and back for Beijing
Today’s walk starts after breakfast on a section which links up with "Mutianyu Great Wall" you will find fantastic views on the way, another great spot for taking perfect pictures. We hike on the wall for about four hours - mainly descending. Later we reach a part of the wall called "Mutianyu" which lies about 1.000 meters' above sea level. The trip ends back in Beijing.
