Dodital, the lake with a lot of mythological history is a very happening trekking destination at the present age. Dodital is the birth place of Lord Ganesha and is said to have witnessed the beheading of the deity by Lord Shiva. Surrounded by lush greenery with crystal clear water makes this place as an ultimate destination for the travelers and sightseers. At an elevation of 3307 meters above mean sea level, in the north of Uttarakashi is a precise trekking destination and also holds potential for other adventure sports.

Day 01: Delhi – Haridwar - Rishikesh (Driving time: 05 - 07 hours)
Early morning at 6:50 board the train to Haridwar . Pick-up at Haridwar railway station approx @ 11:25 and drive to Rishikesh visit Lakshuman Jhula, a swing bridge, where you can cross over and take a walk through the lovely forest to arrive at Ram Jhula – the cross over point to the Right Bank. The area is lined with beautiful temples, ashram, and small shops selling trinket items. Later time permitting, watch the religious ceremony at the Triveni ‘ghat’ (riverbank). Over night at guest house.
Day 02: Rishikesh – Uttarkashi (driving time: 04 hours)
After breakfast, take the share cab to Uttarkashi. Check in to the hotel. After lunch, visit the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), one of the premier Institutes of India that imparts training in mountain climbing etc. The ‘Kailash’ museum within the campus brings to life the culture of highlanders shaped by nature of their inhospitable terrain, the exploits of explorers, the story of their achievements and endurance of the climbers on heroic scale and growth of NIM, from a budding Institute to its present form. From T-shirts, Books, Journals, Badges, Greeting Cards to Ties, Scarves, Caps, etc – the souvenir shop has it all. Souvenirs of WWF and Himalayan Club publications also form part of the display, which are indeed very popular with those visiting the shop and the Institute. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Evening free to walk around the local market.
Day 03: Uttarkashi – Sangam Chatti (Drive: 45 minutes) – Bevra (also Bewara) (Average trekking time: 04 - 05 hours)
Early morning drive to Sangam Chatti (1350m) the starting point of your trek. The trail ascends through the deciduous to semi-tropical forest. Along the way we cross the village of Agoda (2250m), a line of rose bushes and hedgerows greets you. Bevra (2500m) is a beautiful campsite with a stream nearby – a perfect place for a night halt!
Day 04: Bevra – Dodital (Average trekking time: 05 hours)
After breakfast, follow the trail as it ascends through the forest to arrive at Majhi (3150m), a nomadic settlement. You can get beautiful views of the Bandar Poonch Mountain from Majhi. From here, it is a pleasant walk through rhododendron, Oak, Pine and Bamboo forest around hillside to arrive at the beautiful lake of Dodital (3310m). This Lake is set in the forest and is about Half a kilometer wide.The brown trout in the lake adds to the beauty (the forest department issues fishing permit).
Day 05: Dodital
Day is at leisure to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the lake. For the one seeking a physical challenge, a climb atop the Darwa pass is very rewarding. You can see the magnificent Peaks of Bandar Poonch and Swargarohini.
Day 06: Dodital to Agoda (Trek: 05 – 06 hours)
After breakfast return trek to the village of Agoda.
Day 07: Agoda to Sangam Chatti (trek: 03 – 04 hours) – Uttarkashi (Drive: 45 minutes)
After breakfast an easy walk to Sangam chatti, where you board the share cab/ bus to Uttarkashi. In Uttarkashi, you have option to go further to Gangotri and join our trek that leads to the sources of the Ganges (Gaumkuh glacier).
Day 08: Uttarkashi - Rishikesh (drive: 04 hours) – Delhi (drive: 05 – 07 hours)
After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh. End of trip. From Rishikesh, you can either carry on to Delhi or spend few days on your own in Rishkesh or join our 04 days rafting package.
