7 Days Backwater & Fishing Tour

Backwaters are intermeshed freshwater rivers and canals that swim towards the sea, through a couple of larger lakes, that savour the saline taste at times when the sea backs up. The sea often closes a call, because Kerala's seasonal rivers, which originate in the Western Ghats relatively close to the sea, just don't have the strength to hold the sea back. The shores, however, display a handsome play of colours, from the deep green of the coconut fronds to the lighter shades of the rice shoots. Even the shimmering water of the backwaters, reflecting all that passion, turns green. In some narrower canals, the trees meet overhead, and a cool shade imbrues the scene - ah! what a mesmerizing tour will it make. Day 1: Arrive in Cochin

Arrive and transfer to Hotel – Afternoon proceed for city tour Visit Jewish Synagogue, St.Francis Church where Vasco Da Gama was buried ,Dutch Palace ,Chinese fishing nets and by evening board a boat for sunset backwater cruise. Overnight in hotel.

Day 2: Cochin

After Breakfast proceed to visit the famous Guruvayoor Temple – [100 kms2 ½ hrs] where several 100 weddings are solemnized everyday –visit the elephant yard where 100 elephants owned by the temple authorities are being Jed- later Visit the beautiful waterfalls of Athirampally and Cherai Beach which was struck by Tusnami Arrive Cochin by eveing for shopping and at 8 pm visit the most beautiful Rosary Park attached to a very famous Church called Vallarppadam

Church – Overnight in Hotel.

Day 3: Cochin - Periyar wild life senctury

After breakfast, checkout and proceed to Periyar wild life sanctuary (200 kms – 5 hrs) Arrive and check in at the resort. Enjoy Periyar lake boating at 3.30 pm. Overnight in Periyar.

Day4: Periyar

After breakfast, proceed to a breath taking view point and return to resort. over night in Periyar

Day 5: Periyar - Kumarakom

After breakfast check out and proceed to Kumarakom (160 km – 4 hrs). Arrive and check in at a beautiful resort facing backwater. Evening enjoy a country boat cruise – Overnight in Kumarakom.

Day6: Kumarakon - Alleppy

After an early breakfast check out at 8 am to proceed to Alleppey to board the Houseboat (a traditional boat to carry coconut, rice and spices from coast to coast) which offer accommodation for a family with sitting room, bedroom and kitchen – overnight in Houseboat.

Day 7: Alleppy - Airport

After Breakfast check out and proceed to Airport to catch flight back home.
