Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the wild life sanctuaries in the Indian state Madhya Pradesh. The national park is situated at 197 km away north-east of Jabalpur. This wild life park derived its very name from an ancient fort in the area. Bandhawgarh National Park belongs to the Vindhyan mountain ranges of central India and it boasts to have the highest density of tiger population in the country. Now there are about 46 to 52 tigers one can spot here.

Day 01: Delhi to Katni (By over night train)

Board the train for Katni.

Day 02: Arrive Katni – Transfer to Bandhavgarh (drive: 03 - 04 hours)

Arrive Katni in Morning. Met the driver upon arrival and drive straight to Bandhavgarh National Park. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 03: Bandhavgarh

Today we will enjoy the rides iside the national park. Jeep drives in the jungle.Covering 448 Sq. km, Bandhavgarh is situated among the outlying hills of the Vindhyachal range. At the center of the park is Bandhavgarh hill, rising 811mt above MSL. Surrounding it is large number of smaller hills separated by gently sloping valleys. These valleys end in small, swampy meadows, locally known as ‘Bohera’. The vegetation is chiefly of Sal forest in the valleys and on the lower slopes, gradually changing to mixed deciduous forest on the hills and in the hotter drier areas of the park in the South and West. Bamboo is found throughout.

Bandhavgarh is densely populated with Tiger and other wildlife creatures. The great Gaur (Indian Bison) can be seen with ease. Sambar, Barking deer are a common sight and Nilgai are seen in the more open areas of the park. There are more than 22 species of mammals and 250 species of birds. Common Langurs and Rhesus Macaque represent primate group. Carnivores include Asiatic jackal, Bengal Fox, Sloth Bear, Rattlesnake, Gray Mongoose, Striped Hyena, Jungle cat, Leopard and Tiger.

Day 04: Bandhavgarh – Katni (drive: 03 - 04 hours) - Delhi (by over night train)

Morning is at leisure. After lunch, drive to Katni station to connect with the overnight train for Delhi/ Varanasi. End of services.
