Overnight Agra

Agra is often described as the city of monuments. Historic Agrabana, legendary city of the ancients, is today remembered as the capital of the Mughals and famed all over the world as the City of Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Not far away is Fatehpur Sikri, a ghost city today, according to the legends the great Emperor Akbar used to visit the hamlet of Sikri to take the blessings of the great Sufi saint Salim Chisti in order to have an heir to his throne. Men who came to the city as conquerors stayed behind to leave the world relics of an unbelievable golden age, a glorious century of culture, art and architecture. For those who seek the grandeur, beauty and artistry of a world that is no more, Agra is a city without end!

Notice: The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday, the Muslim day of rest. If your trip begins on Thursday then it will be in reverse order. Thus, you will see the Taj sun set view on the first day of your trip.

Day 01: Delhi – Agra (Drive: 04 - 05 hours)

After breakfast drive to Agra. Check in to the hotel. Later drive to Fatehpur Sikri (40 km from Agra).

Fatehpur Sikri : Imposing gateways and light- hearted palaces were built in red sandstone within this fortified city only to be abandoned a few years later. Among its many architectural game are the places for his queens - Jodha Bai, Mariyam and his Turkish sultana, built in varying styles, each perfect in itself. Later Drive to the hotel over night at hotel.

Day 02: Agra – Delhi (Drive: 05 hours)

Early morning visit the Taj Mahal for a sunrise view. The Taj Mahal described as the most extravagant monument ever built of love has become the de facto tourist emblem of India.

After breakfast, visit the Agra fort. Built by the great Emperor Akbar in 1565 A.D. the fort is a masterpiece of design and construction. Within the fort are a number of exquisite building, including the Moti Masjid, Diwane-I-Aam, Diwani-I-Khas and musanman Burj, where the Emperor Shah Jahan died in imprisonment beside Jahangirs place, Khaas Mahal and the Sheesh Mahal. Later visit Itmad-ud-daulah’s tomb, Chisti’s tomb & Sikandra.

After Lunch, proceed for the drive to Delhi. Transfer to the hotel, if pre booked or proceed to next destination.
