Season:
All year. The best period is winter (November to March), when the weather is dry and temperatures are at their lowest (27-30 degrees). Be prepared for heavy but brief showers in the rainy season (June to October), which can bring welcome respite to a day of biking! Temperatures can rise to 30-35 degrees in the hot season (March to May). Remember that Bangkok is humid year-round.
Bangkok
The tour begins at the ABC (Amazing Bangkok Cyclist) office on Sukhumvit Road, soi 26, at 8:00, 10:00, 13:00 or 18:00. (For detailed directions, see below.) You will cycle away from the jam-packed roads of Bangkok to the lively Khlong Toey market. Here you will find a colourful mixture of Thai and Chinese goods for sale year-round. The route will take you through a working-class neighborhood rarely visited by tourists, where you can experience yet another side of the metropolis. You’ll also head through “Little Chinatown”, where children enthusiastically wave and shout “hello” at the unusual sight of foreigners on bicycles.
You will cross the Chao Praya river and enter a jungle area called Phra Pradaeng, where you will cycle on narrow elevated pathways through orchards and traditional Bangkok communities. While dining at a local home or restaurant, you will feel the hospitality Thais for which Thais are known.
Please note!
The route is subject to change because we offer different trips every day. You do not have to be in top physical condition to participate in the tour but you should expect to cycle 15-20 km for 4-5 hours. There are no hills to negotiate and you can expect an easy and relaxed ride.
Children must be at least 150 cm tall and 12 years of age to participate.
Directions to ABC
Take the BTS sky train to Phrom Phong station. Take exit 4 from the sky train platform and make a U-turn at the bottom of the stairs.
