Diving Course at Koh Phi Phi
A new and fantastic world opens up when you first strap on your diving gear and sink into the abyss for up to one hour at a time. It is truly an experience without comparison in every sense. First of all is the visual impression made by the colourful array of countless tropical fish and coral. Then there is the unimaginable silence beneath the surface of the sea, where the only sound you will hear is that of your own bubbles each time you breathe in the water. And finally there is the weightlessness, which gives you that special feeling of freedom and overall harmony with your surroundings.
The advantages of taking a diving certification course in Thailand as opposed to, say, Denmark include the price, the warmth of the water, the tropical fish and coral you can see and the length of the course itself, which can be completed in just four days during your stay on the islands.
Jysk Travel offers courses on Koh Phi Phi Island in cooperation with the Island Divers dive centre. Once you have received your PADI Open Water diving certificate, you will be able to experience new diving adventures all over the world.

Season
Due of the rainy season, which starts at different times on the eastern and western coasts of Thailand, it is very important to take the time of year into consideration when deciding where to complete your diving course. As Koh Phi Phi is located on the west coast, the best period is from October to April.
Important!
When you arrive in Thailand for the beginning of your dive course, you must complete a medical exam. If you suffer – or have suffered from asthma, hay fever or allergies, you must bring a doctor’s certificate stating that you are physically capable of withstanding the kind of strain that diving can cause.
Please take note that there are no doctors on Phi Phi Island. We recommend that you obtain a doctor’s certificate in advance (e.g. in Bangkok or Phuket) if you have the slightest health problem. Please keep in mind that your own health is at stake.
Price does not include accommodation.
Please note!
Participating in diving and other activities is done at your own risk, so you may want to purchase travel insurance before leaving your home country. We recommend Gouda Rejseforsikring, which covers diving at no extra charge, as long as you already have – or are acquiring a valid certificate. Please note that the insurance does not cover dives made beyond the maximum depth of your certification level.
Day 1:
The first day of the course consists of both lessons on theory and practical training in a swimming pool or in shallow sea water. All four days of the course generally start between 8:00 and 9:00 am and end in the late afternoon.
Day 2:
Theory lessons and practical training in swimming pool or in shallow sea water.
Day 3:
Possible theory lessons in the morning and on this day you will sail out to make your first two ocean dives!
Day 4:
On the last day of the course you will make two ocean dives and then receive your certificate – if you have passed both the theoretical and the practical tests! Afterwards you can call yourself a PADI Open Water diver! With this certificate you have permission to dive at a maximum depth of 18 meters. If you like, you can take the next level of certification and become e.g. an Advanced Open Water diver, with the possibility of descending to 30 meters.
Please note! The program is subject to change.
