Diving Course at Koh Tao

A new and fantastic world opens up when you first strap on your diving gear and sink into the abyss. It is truly an experience without comparison. First is the colorful array of countless tropical fish and corals, then the unimaginable silence beneath the surface of the sea, where the only sound you will hear is that of your own bubbles each time you breathe. And finally there is the weightlessness, which gives you that special feeling of freedom and overall harmony with your surroundings. The entire experience will leave you panting for more!

Season:
Due of the rainy season, which starts at different times on the eastern and western coasts of Thailand, it is very important to take the time of year into consideration when deciding where to complete your diving course. As Koh Tao is located on the east coast, the best period is from April to November.

Important!
When you arrive in Thailand for the beginning of your dive course, you must complete a medical exam. If you suffer – or have suffered from asthma, hay fever or allergies, you must bring a doctor’s certificate stating that you are physically capable of withstanding the kind of strain that diving can cause.
We recommend that you obtain a doctor’s certificate in advance (e.g. in Bangkok or Phuket).

Please note:
Participating in diving and other activities is done at your own risk, so you may want to purchase travel insurance before leaving your home country. We recommend Gouda travel insurance, which covers diving at no extra charge, as long as you already have – or are acquiring a valid certificate.

Structure of the course:
Days start at 8 or 9 am and will be finished late afternoon.

The first two days will mostly be theory lessons, but also practical training in a swimming pool or in shallow sea water.

The last two days will mostly be your 4 dives, but also the theory test. At day 4 you will get your last 2 dives, and after that, you will be a certified diver!
