Sapa Trekking
Northwest Vietnam is one of the most interesting and beautiful areas of South East Asia. Vietnam has 54 ethnic groups and the area around Sapa is an exciting place to see the lives, culture and costumes of some of Vietnam’s ethnic minorities. In this part of the country the minorities still dress in their traditional colorful clothing – especially the women. Each group has its own distinct color and style of dress.On this tour you will go by train to Sapa and visit some of the minority people in the Sapa Valley and experience the colorful Sapa market where some of the different ethnic groups come into town to sell their products.

Day 1: Night train Hanoi to Lao Cai.
You will be picked up at your hotel 1 hour before train departure for transfer to the train station. Night train (soft sleeper with A/C) to Lao Cai. The night train leaves at 21:10. O/N on train.
Day 2:Lao Cai - Sapa - Cat Cat village - Sapa.
You will be picked up from Lao Cai station and have shared bus to Sapa. Check-in Cat Cat hotel to have a shower and relax. Now you have time to walk around Sapa town to see some small market in the area. In the afternoon, you take a short Sapa trekking trip to visit Cat Cat village which is the home of Black H’Mong people, they are one of the biggest and poorest minority groups in Sapa. They have their own language and wear traditional indigo blue clothing. Stay overnight at Cat Cat hotel.

Day 3: Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van vilalge.(B, L, D)
After breakfast in the hotel, trekking to Lao Chai village, on the way you will stopover for lunch and relax. In the afternoon, you continue your trek to Ta Van village to visit Zay people. Zay is fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The development has meant that some of their old customs have been lost but many women still wear traditional shirts with a purple, blue or green. Dinner and stay overnight on stilt house.

Day 4: Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Sapa. Night train to Hanoi.(B, L)
Today we will spend time to walk to Giang Ta Chai village where you can see Red Dao people, the women of Red Dao have very colorful red embroideries and coins on their clothing. On their head they wear a red scarf. Some of the women have shaved off their eye brows because a hairless face is considered by the the Red Dao people to be very beautiful. Stop over for lunch. A Jeep pick you up from Giang Ta Chai to Sapa. Check-in Cat Cat hotel to take a shower. A shared bus will take you to train station. Night train back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi early morning. The tour ends at Hanoi train station.
